Mr. Weinstein wrote in part-

Such a survey portion may not be the key part of the paper for reporters or
public to focus on, but it will help make the case that Approval (unlike IRV
or Lone-Mark) is the result of systematic scientific study and objective
considerations, and is not merely another historical accident or
subjectively appealing here-it-is and aint-it-pretty arbitrary choice of
method. I volunteer, for over the next two months, to write a first draft
of this sort of survey discussion.

D -- Simple Approval is just YES or NO from issue elections (somewhat routine
in about 30 States) applied to candidate elections.

A massive new study is hardly needed.

Desired (none, 1 or more) > Compromise (none, 1 or more) > Unacceptable
(none, 1 or more).

Approval would at least be a transition method to Number Voting and Condorcet
math (Head to Head).

The evil forces behind gerrymanders and pluralty are very strong and very
dangerous so ANY serious reform will get some very heavy political flak
attacking it.
