Expanded 34-33-32 Circular Tie Example

YES votes will likely turn into NO votes with more choices (in added
columns to the right)

NO votes in a column keep being NO votes in additional columns to the
right.

i.e. a NO steps triangle with added choices.

Y YES, N NO, * column dividers

Y*34A*25B* 5CY

N*---*---*20CN
N*---* 9B* 9CN

Y*33B*30C* 6AY

N*---*---*24AN
N*---* 3C* 3AN

Y*32C*17A* 2BY

N*---*---*15BN
N*---*15A*15BN

T*99-*99-*99-T

Possible NO votes in column 1 NOT shown for simpler example.

YES votes only -

Y*34A*25B* 5CY
Y*33B*30C* 6AY
Y*32C*17A* 2BY

51 A > 33 B
58 B > 32 C
62 C > 34 A

YES and NO votes -
66 A > 33 B
67 B > 32 C
65 C > 34 A

YES in columns 1 and 2
A 51
B 58
C 62

YES in columns 1, 2 and 3
A 57 [A loses ???]
B 60
C 67

Which tiebreaker ???

The mind boggles with larger examples.
----
Rehash some more --
Use both YES/NO votes and Number Votes
YM YES Majority, CW - Condorcet Winner
CL Condorcet Loser

Elect 1 of 2
0 YM - exec/judic appoint to fill vacancy
1 YM - elected
2 YM - CW/CL

Elect 1 of 3 [or more]
0-2 YM -- same as in Elect 1 of 2
3 [or more] YM - CW/CL
If no CW, then lowest YM loses [This is a change from an earlier posting]
If YM tie, then lowest YES in N-1 columns loses

This last *rare* divided majority event -
YES votes only
18 ABC
17 BCA
16 CAB
49 Z
100

A,B,C all have 51 YES majorities in a circular tie.

N-1 columns YES
A 34
B 35
C 33 loses

A 34 beats B 17
-- IF none of the Z voters make any rankings of A, B or C (as NO votes).

Too difficult for 5 of 9 SCOTUS folks to understand ???
