Approval Voting - Candidate Rank Order lists 16 June 2014
Approval Voting can be used with Candidate rank order lists for
executive/judicial offices.
Candidates rank order the other candidates and file a public list before
the election day.
IF more candidates get YES Approval Votes from the Voters than the number
to be elected, then the rank order lists would be used to eliminate losers
(rather than having the lowest YES person(s) lose).
Short Example - elect a Guv - 100 Voters
Approval Voting with Candidate rank order lists.
52 A [BZ]
51 B [AZ]
48 Z [BA]
A and B have YES majorities.
Votes for all Losers shift left.
52 AB
51 BA
48 BA
99 B beats 52 A
i.e. the minority would likely vote for the lesser of the evils -- again
for executive / judicial offices.
Head to Head math or N-1 columns math in larger elections.
If not enough YES majority winners (such as in electing 2 or more judges),
then declare a vacancy to be filled by the legislative body involved.
