I don't object to such criteria. I just prefer not to use them. In practice they usually have to be translated into votes-only criteria in order to figure out how to use or test them.

You say it is inelegant to specify assumptions about methods to which criteria apply. But your alternative is criteria that have to discuss not just sincere preferences but also the degree to which voting may be insincere. And you need to define these concepts in a universal way, irrespective of ballot format. I don't feel this is more elegant. Possibly better-defined (if done well), but not more elegant.
