although there were some errors in some of the earlier comments that were corrected
later.   NlogN algorithsm were also proposed in the RV posts, although
Heitzig's own NlogN algorithm seems simpler than the one on RV.
AN O(N) algorithm is also pointed out for a variant of Heitzig's scheme,
and some criticisms and analysis of it.
