If IRV gave good results under sincere voting and IF IRV's strategy were
so complex that absolutely nobody could find a way to take advantage of
insincere ranking (or convince others that he had), then this complexity
would be in favor of IRV.

Neither of these big IF's is satisfied so the point is moot in the case at
hand.
