Since IRV does not meet what many consider to be the most important 
criterion for an election election system - monotonicity 
(http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotonicity_criterion), what possible 
advantages can IRV have?
For me to believe a voting system to be worthy of any consideration, 
it must at least be monotonic and IRV certainly is not 
(http://electionmethods.org/evaluation.html#MC).
