fails LnH a bit less but otherwise still retains the method’s other strengths

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">So, here’s
the nth contestant: voters submit ranked ballots, with truncation and equal ranking
allowed, and all explicitly ranked candidates considered approved. <span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><br></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">You compute
the standard approval winner. If they win by less than 50% of the vote, they
are the winner.<span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><br></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Otherwise,
truncate all ballots just prior to the standard approval winner (if multiple
candidates share a tier with the approval winner, leave them on the truncated
ballot). Compute the modified approval winner. If they win by more than 50% of
