Hi folks,

There's been a lot of talk about DMARC and other SMTP related lingo regarding email delivery. This sort of debugging information is probably only useful to Dreamhost (the host for this list), and I suspect that no one from Dreamhost pays attention to this mailing list. I don't have a sufficient level of access to the server to be able to use the information y'all are digging up. Depending on how an experiment that I've started conducting, I may move the election-methods mailing list to a new host.

I've started a new "election-software" mailing list, which y'all are invited to join (as long as you don't introduce too much drama to that list, or dominate the conversation too much by sending way-too-many messages per day to the list):

https://electorama.com/es

The election-software mailing list is a discussion forum for software related to elections. This can be everything from the user interface presented to voters through the counting of the ballots all of the way through to the random mechanism used to break ties. Debating the merits of various election methods should be left to the election-methods mailing list or various other forums where the merits of IRV vs STAR vs Approval vs Condorcet methods are discussed.

My hope is that the modernized moderation tools available to me on my new host will make it easier for me to be a good moderator (and not the absentee moderator I've been on this list). There's a LOT of work involved in migrating the archives from one host to another, which is why I've hesitated to migrate the election-methods list, but perhaps the election-software mailing list will be a good place to test out a new home for election-methods.

Rob

---------- Forwarded message ---------
From: Rob Lanphier <roblan@gmail.com>
Date: Tue, Jul 23, 2024 at 5:40 PM
Subject: Welcome to the election-software mailing list!
To: election-software <election-software@hio.mailmanlists.us>

Hi folks,

If you are reading this email message, you're probably reading the archive for the list.
