Hi folks,
The first ElectoramaNews Weekly(?) edition is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT9QsWr1mJw
...and the (rather small) episode list can be found here:
https://electowiki.org/wiki/ElectoramaNews/Weekly
My co-host last week was Tom Cavin, and we discussed the Maine Supreme
Judicial Commission's opinion about RCV, and our speculation for the
implications of that. It previews the April monthly newsletter, which will
also discuss Maine.
The "Weekly(?)" in "ElectoramaNews Weekly(?)" is because I don't imagine
I'll publish it weekly if I don't find a co-host. I'm okay with rotating
co-hosts, but if I rely on that, I want to build up a queue of volunteers.
Since the monthly ElectoramaNews newsletter is due out this week, I plan to
focus on that rather than recording another weekly videocast. Tom Cavin
volunteered to join me as co-host for the first version, and that worked
out really well, but Tom only volunteered to join me for the first week
week (and he's done his tour of duty).
The first edition took longer than I had hoped to produce, but I think I
know how to streamline the process a bit. My hope is that my co-host and I
can coordinate asynchronously over the course of a week (agreeing on an
outline for our conversation, including a few scripted portions). We can
then have a 90-minute video call to record one or two 20-minute takes.
After the call, I lightly edit the raw recording and publish it. If you
want to volunteer, send me an email saying so!
Regardless if you want to co-host, I would love you to join a special
ElectoramaCall happening on Wednesday, April 29 at 2pm Pacific Time.
Depending on who shows up, we'll either be discussing videocast plans,
electoral news generally, or something random. You can the call join by
visiting https://electorama.com/videocall and follow the instructions
there. I'd appreciate it if you RSVP'd, either by email or Discord (see
https://electorama.com/discord for Discord instructions). But an RSVP
isn't fully necessary, at least this week.
Rob
