Agreed that Approval is simple - but it is also too incapable of 
indicating normal thoughts such as:  A and B are better than X AND A is 
preferred over B.

Clay would call Approval non-ranked - yet Approval is describable as 
having 2 ranks.

Because neither ranked nor rated is accepted as being perfect.

What we can and should do is become more willing to discard the chaff 
around the edges.
