[Election-Methods] a story for christmas

Oh, come on, Rob. Your analogy of common keys (enabling people to take
from each other at will) to Range Voting is broken.

With RV, you can weaken your vote (let others "take advantage" of
you). But it's STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. Juho's suggestion of individually
keyed inner doors and common keys for outer doors is a better analogy
to what RV is right now. Most people might not store anything of value
in their vestibules (i.e. vote max and min for every candidate). But
some generous souls might put some food or other items in the
vestibule that they don't mind being taken by others. What's so bad
about that?!

Your railing against RV is like lobbying against the unsecured
vestibule idea. Why are you so keen on FORBIDDING people from casting
weak votes / making some of their property available for others to
take?

Cheers,
- Jan
