Joanne Jacobs is a former columnist for the San Jose Mercury News, who
quit to write a book or something.  She apparently still likes
columnizing, though, or may be just collecting material for her next
venture.

Probably not a huge circulation on this web site, but she might still
have a following of former Mercury readers.  But who knows where she'll
be when the next election rolls around.

P.S. Jacobs' column is often quite interesting -- I thought the 4/17
installment ("Poor schools subsidize rich schools") was a real
eye-opener.
