Greetings,

At the web site: http://bcn.boulder.co.us/government/approvalvote/altvote.html

Steven Brams and Peter Fishburn wrote:

"Like STV, the Borda count need not elect the Condorcet candidate.
This is illustrated by the case of three voters with preference order abc
and two voters with preference order bca. Under the Borda count, a receives
6 points, b 7 points, and c 2 points, making b the Borda winner; yet a is
the Condorcet candidate."

Donald Writes:
Candidate a also has a majority of the first choices. This seems to
answer my question: Does Blake's defination of Approval Voting also apply
to Borda Count?

In other words, Approval Voting and Borda Count are not required to
elect the candidate that may have a majority of the first choices.

     Does anyone dispute this statement?

Donald
