Hang them high remedies

My friendly local paper had a cartoon on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, with a ballot
with 2 columns with the headings "Hang (th)'em high" and "Hang (th)'em higher"
(recalling Mr. Clint Eastwood's 1960's movie) with the various candidates.
Is the cartoonist a relative of Mr. Ossipoff ?

Being serious, I suggest again that (1) there be a YES/NO vote on executive
and judicial officer candidates so that obvious bad case folk do NOT get
elected (along with a Condorcet number vote 1, 2, 3, etc. to choose among the
choices that have apparent majority YES acceptability votes and (2) there
should be short terms (preferably 1 year terms) so that corrupt elected folk
can only do damage for a short time, and that (3) there should also be a voter
recall method for all officers in case the voters are brainwashed when they
elect some candidate who reveals his/her/their *true corrupt* (and powermad)
character(s) after they enter into office (e.g.. Johnson (Vietnam War), Nixon
(Watergate), Reagan (Iran-Contra), Clinton (l'affaire Monica L.), etc., etc.).

I continue to be amazed why politician folks in legislative bodies fail to
make obvious elementary fundamental reforms in spite of repeated devastating
political disasters.
