By the Condorcet definition, the votes for candidate A minus the votes for
candidate B determine who beats who.
If a voter votes A and B equally, A-B=0 from the ballot of that voter.
If the same voter ranks C less than A or B, then the pairs produce A-C=1 and
B-C=1.
The record of all voters will indicate how many voters ranked two or more
candidates the same (assuming that equal numbered choices are being allowed).
In other words, the whole issue of x being 0, 0.5, 1 or some other number is
a waste of time.
