Subject: Public Choice Society meetings
I thought I'd call your attention and Francis's to the upcoming
Public Choice Society Meetings in San Antonio in March, which have a
number of panels on voting and fairness. There will be other
mathematicians there, including three of my recent coauthors (Marc
Kilgour, Dan King, and Mike Jones).
See the latest e-mail from the Society, which I've copied below,
and their website.
Best wishes,
Steve
Subject: Public Choice Society Program and Participant List
Dear Public Choice 2001 Participant,
As the March PCS 2001 meeting in San Antonio is getting closer, a
tentative schedule for the meeting is now available on the PC website
(http://www.pubchoicesoc.org). Once you are at the website click on the
button Annual Meeting 2001 and there will be two links which will be in
pdf format. Please consult this site to see where you are on the
program. In addition to any papers you will be presenting, you have
probably been assigned chairing and discussant responsibilities - be
sure to find all the places where you will appear! The main purpose of
this schedule is so you can begin making your travel arrangements.
In some cases, information about your affiliation, paper name or e-mail
address may be missing. If that is the case, please send that
information to Carol Robert IMMEDIATELY! (Crobert at VMS1.gmu.edu).
Because you are probably scheduled not only to give your paper(s), but
function as a panel chair and discussant at sessions other than the one
in which you will present your paper (and many of those are on Friday
morning or Sunday morning), we encourage you to plan to arrive on
Thursday evening and plan to stay until Sunday. A block of rooms has
been earmarked for us at the St. Anthony for Thursday, March 8. Be sure
to make your reservations through the PC website
(http://pubchoicesoc.org/hotel.html). You can also register directly
with the hotel at (210)227-4392 and be sure to tell them you are
registering for the Public Choice Society Conference. The 800 number
does not work for groups.
Within a week you will be receiving a letter defining your
responsibilities as chair, paper giver or discussant.
This should be a great PCS meeting and Im delighted that you will be
with us!
Sincerely
Bernie Grofman
President, Public Choice Society
