Single winner reform for executive and judicial offices is the limiting case
of multiple winner reforms-- such as electing 3 sheriffs among 10 candidates.
(a) Each of the 3 winners either gets or does not get majority support.
(b) Either all of the 3 versus 7 head to head combinations are done or not
done.
(c) Either 1 or more of the 7 losers are eliminated at a time or all of the 7
losers are eliminated at the same time.
Thus, my suggestion for a combination of approval voting, head to head and
instant runoff in case of head to head ties.
